MATES 4 MATES IN THE NT

Established in 2013, Mates4Mates has become one of the country’s leading charities providing physical, psychological and social support services to the Defence community.

Mates4Mates provide a pathway to recovery through physical rehabilitation and psychology services, skills and wellbeing programs and social connection activities.

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs recently appointed Mates4Mates as the lead organisation for the Northern Territory Veteran and Family Wellbeing Centre.

Based in Darwin, but servicing the entire Territory, the centre will provide support and rehabilitation to veterans and their families.

Mates4Mates are partnering with local organisations and stakeholders to deliver services including psychological support, physical rehabilitation and wellbeing programs, along with employment, transition and housing programs, and advocacy support.

A Regional Manager has been appointed in Darwin to launch a selection of programs and wellbeing services for the veteran community, with the centre expected to open in 2022.
